I just found a great site for free icon sets, for both personal and commercial use.
Actually, it found me. Started following me on Twitter, to be more precise. The user was in violation of one of my big pet peeves on Twitter; namely, they followed me and about 1000 other people with little or no provocation, which is usually defined as follow-spam. The second strike against them came when they hadn’t any tweets. Not one. I admit I was a little curious to see what this obvious marketing ploy was all about, so I followed the homepage link. (I know, I’m a sucker.) In this case, I was glad that I did.
It’s a simple concept for an icon gallery, really. Take the same set of 140 computing icons and impose or mask them over a variety of patterns, textures, and finishes to achieve roughly one new set of free icons every day. The sets are high quality and nice work, so I see this site doing very well. In the meantime, if you need a few free icons, head over to icons.mysitemyway.com, and check them out!
